L. Neil Smith Commemorative Rifle
By L. Neil Smith

As you may already be aware, Investment Arms, the people who produced the "Bill of Rights .45" for JPFO ...

... have decided to honor me by creating a special rifle to commemorate my 40 years of striving for individual liberty, my 25 years as a novelist, and the 23 books I've written so far.

The weapon we've chosen is the massive rifle Lucy Kropotkin holds in her hands on the cover of my book of essays, Lever Action.

http://www.marlinfirearms.com/firearms/leverActionCB_rifles/1895CB.htm

It's a Marlin .45/70 "Cowboy" model, a lever action of the kind I like best, with a 26" octagonal barrel, a straight stock (no moern pistol grip), a full-length tubular magazine that holds an amazing nine rounds!

The modern .45/70 generates around 3000 foot pounds of energy and is easily capable of taking any game in North America, including the big Alaskan bears.

I'm pleased to say that the folks at Investment Arms have agreed to let me ask you -- my readers -- what you think should be engraved on this rifle. It can be simple scenes or characters from my books, a portrait of me (if you think the world's ready for it) and/or, as my wife and daughter have suggested, various apposite quotations from Chairman Me.

The illustrious Scott Bieser will be helping us out.

Please write to me, right away, at [email protected], or to my friend Jesse Herron at [email protected]. The limited-edition rifles will cost around $3000, but can be had on an extremely easy instalment plan.

This is really fun!
